Each year, there are many woman and children gone missing, or being forced into unwanted situation (such as being rape, or kidnap). Often, when those situation happen when least expected,, such as Taking a Taxi home at late night, picking Car from Car Park, waiting someone, or even just cycle to school.

There are many mobile application in the market ofter people tracking and emergency notification service, where one needs to put out their phone, launch the app, and  trigger a “panic” button during emergency. However, most often then not, when unwanted situation happen, we found that one is in abilities to call for any help, because

• We panic, or have hurt ourself, we unable to take out our phone to call for help..
• We being after by bad people, or threaten with knife/gun, and we not able to take out our phone to trigger for help
• Our phone is lost or out of battery, or being force to turn off..

And we finally have the opportunity to trigger for help, it’s usually too late for local authorities to do anythings..

What if there is a service that will automatically trigger help to my emergency contacts, my social network (such as Facebook and Twitter) when I in danger, and allows my contacts, and my friends to continue track where am I, even I unable to push the “panic” button when emergency occur.

Hence our inspiration of secQ.me service (Malaysia Patent PI 20094798), we offer individual user (especially for woman and children) an guardian angel that provide watchful eye to user, should user is in any emergency, even without a mobile phone, user’s emergency contacts will get notified, and it’s our aspiration that with our service, we will on reducing crime rate against woman and children.

The secQ.me is pronounce as “Secure Me”.

• Automatically alert the right people for help even if the person is NOT capable to call for help herself or LOST her a mobile device.
• Automatically broadcast to Facebook & Twitter and other social network service so that all my friends and loved ones know I am in danger even though I cant reach out to them.
• Allows individual to  register secQ.me event with media files (e.g taking picture of Taxi driver, taxi number, my surrounding), in hoping if emergency do occurs, my friends and local authorities will able to extend their help ASAP.
• Automatically track & inform the right people/authority on my nearest possible location so that help can be sent immediately (shorten investigation time)

How secQ.me work?

1. User will first needs to register via our portal (http://secQ.me), providing their personal detail, emergency contacts, social network setting.

2. Once user account is created, user will proceed to download secQ.me mobile app (we plan to launch Android and iPhone app by end of 2010)

3. When user is going on any activities that possible in risk, (for example, taking taxi home at late night, going open car park to pick up car alone) user will inform secQme angel detailing event, Each “please watch over me” event will associate with a estimate event duration. (See above figure)
For example :

• “Taking Cab number WEB1235 Home from my Office, 30 minutes”
• “Waiting to be pick up by Boy Friend, at Building ABC, 20 minutes”

4. User could opted take Picture (e.g as taking Taxi Driver pic, or taking his/her surrounding), or record voice message when register “please watch over me” event. Those media files will transmitted to secQ.me server for record purpose.

5. Once event is registered, the propose mobile App, will continue update user’s location to secQ.me servers via secure channel.

6. When the event duration is up, the mobile App will trigger alarm, and prompt user for his/her safety,

7. If user fail to response in certain time frame, secQ.me server will then notify user’s emergency contacts immediately.

8. User’s emergency contact could login to our portal to track user’s latest location, and find out more about the event, if user have uploaded with any media files, they could view those media files and use those media files to report to police officer, in hoping local police able to track and extend their help to users ASAP (click here to see a sample of our tracking page).

9. Please note that user’s emergency contacts info is store in our server, and sms notification to user’s emergency contact is done via our server, rather then from user’s mobile phone. The reason behind this is to prevent the situation should user’s force to turn off their mobile phone, and unable to notify user’s contacts.

10. Our  system allows user’s to link his/her social network account (facebook and twitter) with us,should the emergency occur, user could configure to allow our system to publish the same info to user’s help, in hoping more people will help to locate user.

11. The secQ.me mobile application provide on the spot emergency event (see above figure), where user could press record message button to on detailing the situation, when user finished recording, User location tracking will commence immediately and system will trigger alert to user’s emergency contacts and relevant authority. At the same time, user’s Facebook and Twitter will also be simultaneously posted with emergency alert for help.

12. Most of the tracking mobile app in the market, only offer trigger emergency via panic button, without providing context of the emergency. By offering this feature, user’s emergency contact will able to have better understanding of what is going on, and extend their help accordingly.

Yes, you can download the application from the website to your mobile phone but you will still have to register for the service.

SecQ.me provides two modes of triggering an emergency:

1. It allows on-the-spot emergency trigger which can be activated by pressing the emergency button on the mobile home screen.
2. The second mode activates automatically when the user fails to provide a safety confirmation when the time for a registered event ends.

Click on the “Creation of Account” at the bottom right of the webpage after which you will receive an email to activate your account. Once you have completed that step, go on to download the application on your mobile phone.

Users can also register their accounts directly though our android and iPhone apps.

We are offering free of charge until further notice.

You can either register an event by voice recording and/or by entering a text message followed by the duration of the event. You are also given the option of attaching a photo with the voice recording or text message.

Emergency can happened anytime and anyway. Hence, an ‘event’ can be any routine activity or it can be an out of norm activity which you feel that you are open to any risk. The more information you provide during an event register the more comprehensive information/leads you are furnishing your emergency contacts during an emergency alert. Some of the examples are:

1. Taking a taxi home from office with plate no. WMW 1234

2. Going for a date with Kelvin at Hilton Hotel.

You have the option of playing back your voice recording by pressing the ‘play’ button right next to the ‘voice recording.’

The system will continue to triggers and emergency alert to your emergency contacts, track and report your location to the server until the event is ended by the user

As the end time of an event approaches, SecQ.me automatically triggers a reminder and an icon shows up at the top of your mobile phone. Your phone will vibrate, triggering the alarm. Upon pressing the SecQ.me icon you will be asked to enter your PIN which will successfully end the event.

SecQme provides four notification channels, Email, SMS, Facebook and Twitter. You have the option to choose any/all of the channels.

Only the user registered emergency contacts are given access to the Web Location Tracker to trace the user location during an emergency alert.

No. SecQ.me service relies on the mobile network for data and voice transmission which takes place between the mobile phone and the server.

SecQ.me will only keep a track of your location when you, the user, register an event or trigger an emergency. Your location is not tracked without your knowledge.

Firstly, only authorized person nominated by the subscriber as their emergency contacts and authorized enforcement party will be given the access to the captured information in SecQ.me server with the one time generated unique tracking pin per event registered.

Secondly, all the information from the personal wireless networks that are transmitted and store in the server are are all encrypted. Even SecQ.me staff is unable to read and can only be decrypted by the unique one time password for ever different event.

Thirdly, this information is only captured and achieved in our server for a month, thereafter it is removed from SecQ.me servers. This information is kept for a month so as to provide a means of reconciliation to the subscriber for his billing tracking and for his emergency contacts to access when an emergency is triggered
